Why Barron Trump always carry a black backpack to class

Barron Trump, 18, has been attending NYU’s Stern Business School for about six months and is already drawing attention—both for his high-profile status and how he navigates it. Accompanied daily by Secret Service agents, Barron tries to maintain a low profile. He reportedly carries a modest $88 black backpack, which some believe reflects a desire to appear more relatable despite his wealthy background. According to students, he’s known for being “chill,” “popular with the ladies,” and somewhat of an “oddity” on campus.

Though his presence divides opinion—some students are intrigued, others skeptical—Barron has found ways to connect, even inviting peers to play video games with him on Discord.

Despite his visibility and constant security, some say he seems down-to-earth and approachable.

Stylist Nathan Pearce, who helped Barron prepare for his father’s inauguration, described him as smart, witty, and surprisingly hospitable—someone who can hold his own with top business minds.

While Barron remains largely private, his college life is starting to shed new light on the Trump family’s youngest and perhaps most mysterious member.
