The “president” just dragged United States just crossed a horrific line.

In a middle of the night Truth Social post, made after a series of bombings, Donald Trump announced that the U.S. had carried out a large scale strike inside Venezuela and that President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were “captured and flown out of the country.”

“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro,” Trump wrote. “This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow.”

Calling this a “capture” is a lie. This was the kidnapping of the elected leader of a sovereign nation, carried out with helicopters, special forces, and direct attacks on Venezuelan military infrastructure. That is an invasion, plain and simple.

Reports indicate Trump did not notify the Senate Armed Services Committee before ordering the strikes. A president already facing deep scandal acted unilaterally, without congressional approval, without public consent, and without regard for international law.

Even MAGA bootlicking Congressman are asking how this could possibly be legal:
“I look forward to learning what, if anything, might constitutionally justify this action in the absence of a declaration of war or authorization for the use of military force”

Trump is claiming this was about drugs, accusing Maduro of leading a cartel poisoning America. That claim collapses under basic scrutiny. Virtually no fentanyl comes from Venezuela. What Venezuela does have is massive oil reserves, and Trump has never hidden who he governs for. Big Oil donors and authoritarian theatrics come first. Democracy comes last.

Videos flooding social media appear to show U.S. Apache helicopters firing on Venezuelan military installations and massive explosions lighting up Caracas. The New York Times reports Venezuelan officials confirming an unspecified number of people were killed and injured, with casualty figures still being assessed.

Unverified but widely reported claims from Venezuelan media say U.S. forces also attacked the Cuartel de la Montaña complex, the mausoleum of former President Hugo Chávez. If true, it had no military value. It was humiliation, spectacle, and propaganda.

Trump has a long history of praising strongmen while attacking democratic leaders. During his first term he mocked Maduro while openly admiring dictators, and Maduro repeatedly accused Trump of acting like an “emperor” who “believes he owns the world.” That warning now looks prophetic.

Make no mistake. This is an act of war. Even if Trump declares victory and pulls out, Venezuela’s government has not collapsed and key officials remain free. Resistance is possible. Escalation is likely.

China, the largest buyer of Venezuelan oil, will see this as a direct threat to its interests. Maduro had just met with a senior Chinese envoy days before the attack. This is how global conflicts spiral.

If Trump can seize oil in Venezuela, it only emboldens his threats toward Iran and others. This is naked imperialism, driven by greed, ego, and a far right movement that thrives on chaos and violence.

This is not strength. It is pathetic weakness of an insane toddler using bombs and lives as toys. At a huge cost.
