At a baseball game, a sweet moment swiftly took a turn for the worse when a spectator approached a father and son who were enjoying his birthday to make a contentious demand.
Harrison Bader, an outfielder for the Phillies, hit a home run into the stands Friday while the team was playing the Marlins at LoanDepot Park.
A fan who catches a ball that is hit into the stands gets to keep it, as is customary in baseball.
The footage showed almost half a dozen spectators running into an empty row to block Bader’s powerful smash, but it fell into the stands and was scooped up by a father who walked back to his place around five seats away and gave it to his thrilled kid.
That could have been the end of it normally, but one fan was not going to give up and stormed over to the family demanding the ball.The grey-haired woman is seen in the video almost catching the ball, but she seems to fumble it and toss it to the ground.
Where the ball was picked up is indicated by the heated argument between the father and the fan.
Fan recorded footage shows the woman claiming, “You took it from me. It was in my hand.”
The supporter eventually returns to her seat with the reward after the frustrated father snatches the ball from his son, who the Phillies have named Lincoln.
