A tragic murder-suicide occurred in Nebraska on May 10, 2025, the day of a local high school graduation. Police found Jeremy Koch, 42, Bailey Koch, 41, and their sons Hudson, 18, and Asher, 16, dead in their Johnson Lake home. Authorities believe Jeremy fatally stabbed his family before taking his own life.
The Kochs had a mental health support page called Anchoring Hope and had been open about Jeremy’s struggles with suicidal thoughts.Just a day prior, Bailey shared a hopeful message about his efforts to work despite his mental health challenges.
The community, including Cozad Schools, is mourning the loss. Support services have been offered to students and staff.
Autopsies have been ordered, and the Nebraska State Patrol is leading the investigation.
