Harris Cuts Trump Out Of Carter Funeral Photo, Drawing New Criticism

It seems that Vice President Kamala Harris may still be bitter about her historic loss to now-President-elect Donald Trump.

The outgoing second-in-command has caused a stir on social media and on cable news outlets including CNN, of all places, for a photo she posted to her accounts of her attendance at the late President Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week.

The event brought together five current and former presidents – Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Trump — as well as former vice presidents Al Gore and Mike Pence. But when posting a photo of the gathering to her social media accounts, Harris conspicuously left out Trump.

The image depicted the current and former presidents all standing with their hands over their hearts. In the foreground, former Bush, a Republican, was partially hidden by Doug Emhoff, Harris’s husband, who stood next to her in the front pew.

“President Jimmy Carter loved our country,” Harris wrote in her post. “He lived his faith, served the people, and left the world better than he found it.”

The potential snub of Trump drew immediate backlash on social media.

“Kamala, you are a petty POS. You cropped out President Trump and his family. All because you were not able to steal another election from him. You will always be known as the DEI pick who slept your way to the top of the illegitimate Biden regime. Signed, The American People,” former West Virginia House member and Jan. 6 “political prisoner” Derrick Evans wrote.

“Trying to erase history once again. Did you know Melania was there on the 1-year anniversary of her own mother’s funeral? Your moral character and that of those surrounding you in the picture is well shown. President Trump and Melania shouldn’t be in the picture with you. Once again a petty tactic backfires. Pure evil is like that,” another user wrote.

“Worst VP in history,” said another.

An interaction between Obama and Trump, meanwhile, raised eyebrows as the two men had a friendly conversation, and even laughed, before the funeral began.

A lip reader, Jeremy Freeman, spoke to The Daily Mail and reported on what he believes was said between the two men.

According to Freeman, the two men shared remarks that appeared to be a mix of lighthearted banter and logistical observations during the Thursday morning service.

Obama reportedly began with a somewhat weary acknowledgment, saying: “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, yeah, fine, fine, fine. Listen to me. It’s a chore, a chore.” Trump joked in response: “Yeah, right. I can’t think of anything that’s a chore.”

Obama then mentioned something about “blocking the entrance” and described a situation as “a chore,” to which Trump replied by leaning in closer: “I’ve pulled out of that. It’s the conditions. Can you imagine that?” Obama laughed, and Trump added, “And after, I will…”

Later in the conversation, Freeman noted that Obama seemed to inquire about a potential meeting, asking: “Are you going back to the foy after?”

Trump responded, “Call me at the foy after, yep.” While the lip reader identified the word “foy,” its exact meaning remains unclear but could refer to a foyer or another planned gathering point.

The conversation concluded with Trump suggesting: “I can’t talk, we have to find a quiet place. Sometimes, this is a matter of importance, and we need to do this outside so that we can deal with it, certainly, today.”

Obama nodded in agreement, exchanging final words of acknowledgment before returning their attention to the service.
