Biden granted pre-emptive pardons to family members, political allies, and others, drawing criticism from Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who called for reforms to ensure transparency in granting clemency.

Klobuchar questioned Biden’s decision to pardon his son and other individuals, suggesting the need for an independent board to oversee pardons. While acknowledging that some pardons were justifiable, she expressed confusion about many decisions, arguing that the process lacked fairness and accountability. Both Trump and Biden faced bipartisan scrutiny over their use of executive clemency powers.
